There is no shortage of Instant Messenger application in App Store to keep in touch with your MSN (or Windows Live) friends. BeejiveIM, eBuddy  and Meebo  are all great IM apps for iPhone. However, none of IM apps is from Microsoft, the official creator for MSN (or Windows Live) messenger.

Today, as unveiled by neowin, Microsoft is finally set to bring Windows Live Messenger to iPhone. Quoted from the site, which got the first-hand information about the messenger app, Microsoft will debut the Windows Live Messenger on iPhone by June. A limited private beta is expected to take place in May.

Not much details about the features. But expect Windows Live Messenger for iPhone will include photo sharing, chat and a social stream for users.

Finally the wait is over, the most anticipated version of the iPad, the iPad 3G, has hit all Apple Stores across the US. Grab yours now before they’re all sold out.

The main difference between the regular WiFi iPad and the iPad 3G is self explanatory by the name – which is the ability to take advantage of the 3G networks and surf the internet in any location which has 3G connectivity! You don’t need to hunt for a good WiFi hotspot to roll on the internet! Whether you’re on a train or a road trip, the 3G iPad will be your wireless internet companion.

3G data plan

The available data package is really awesome! You don’t have to be in contract to use 3G, just use whenever you feel like it, or just simply don’t. Pay your internet usage bills right from your iPad, it’s that simple. In the US, AT&T is offering a really great data plan per month, either you can buy 250MB of bandwidth for $14.99 or buy the unlimited data plan if you’re regular internet user, for just $29.99.

pre-ordering or buying from the store

If you’ve pre-ordered the iPad, then you’ve probably gotten it right now. Or you can hunt for the nearest Apple Store to get your hands on one. Make sure you’re there early when the line is short! Otherwise you’ll miss the chance to get the iPad 3G. So, time is crucial! Steve Jobs confirmed in an email that Best Buy will also stock the iPad 3G on launch day, so find a Best Buy store near your place and get your hands on the iPad 3G. Time for availability is 5PM, so don’t miss it!

iPad 3G order can be placed from Apple’s online store here.

pricing

The pricing of the iPad 3G are as follows: $629 for the 16GB model, $729 for the 32GB model and $829 for the 64GB model. So you’ll be paying premium for the added 3G support, but trust us, it’s worth it! You’ll be roaming freely with your 3G data plan without worrying about finding a WiFi hotspot.

According to the sources at TechCrunch, HP has dropped Windows 7 + Intel based hardware for its ambitious tablet project because “It’s too power hungry”. This news, which is yet to be confirmed by HP comes only a few hours after it was confirmed that Microsoft Courier Tablet wont see the light of day.

If this turns out to be true, then it will leave a big hole for PC manufacturers and specially Microsoft to fill as Apple iPad will now continue to dominate this niche market without having any major competing device in this form factor. I have been saying this for month and will repeat my statement again. Microsoft needs a Tablet which is based on the new Windows Phone 7 OS (something on the lines of this concept). Because lets be honest, the current (client version) Windows 7 wasn’t initially designed to be a touch friendly mobile OS. It was designed with keyboard + mouse input devices in mind, just like how OS X has been.

The sources at TechCrunch have also been told that HP Slate may debut again in late 2010, or sometime next year running Chrome OS or Android. HP may also bring WebOS to this market after they bought Palm only a few days ago.

In January this year, Steve Ballmer in his keynote at CES 2010 unveiled the HP Slate PC running Windows 7. The device was suppose to go retail in summer of this year. [via TechCrunch]

The new iPhone 4G release date is in June 2010, and the picture above is an iPhone 4G. iPhone 4G means iPhone fourth generation, not 4G network. Gizmodo, a tech news site took this photo of the iPhone 4G before returning the prototype back to Apple. A Verizon iPhone is possible, but it is more likely that it will launch in 2011.

A Sprint iPhone seems to be more likely to launch this year because Sprint already has their 4G network ready, and they plan to launch their first 4G phone, which is the HTC Evo 4G in June. If either Verizon or Sprint get iPhone, I’m switching right away. What about you?
If you’re still unconvinced (and we wouldn’t blame you for being so), Apple blogging phenom John Gruber of Daring Fireball had this to say:
“So I called around, and I now believe this is an actual unit from Apple — a unit Apple is very interested in getting back.”
Gruber also continues in a later post:
“It’s been an open secret to those of us in the racket that Gizmodo purchased this unit about a week ago, from those who claimed to find it. That this belongs to and was made by Apple is almost beyond question at this point. Just how much it looks like what Apple plans to ship this summer, I don’t know. Note that it’s thinner than a 3GS.”
To say this is uncharacteristic of Apple would be an understatement. So uncharacteristic, you’d be forgiven for thinking it was all part of Steve Jobs’ creative master plan.
Before the images and video, details of what’s new and changed.

What’s new on iPhone 4G
* Front-facing video chat camera
* Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS)
* Camera flash
* Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad)
* Improved display. It’s unclear if it’s the 960×460 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the “Connect to iTunes” screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS.
* What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack
* Split buttons for volume
* Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic

What’s changed iPhone 4G
* The back is entirely flat, made of either glass (more likely) or shiny plastic in order for the cell signal to poke through. Tapping on the back makes a more hollow and higher pitched sound compared to tapping on the glass on the front/screen, but that could just be the orientation of components inside making for a different sound
* An aluminum border going completely around the outside
* Slightly smaller screen than the 3GS (but seemingly higher resolution)
* Everything is more squared off
* 3 grams heavier
* 16% Larger battery
* Internals components are shrunken, miniaturized and reduced to make room for the larger battery
