Apple has announced the Features of the new iPhone firmware version 3.0 that will be released to the public in the summer of 2009.
Here is an overview of Features that you can expect:
Copy & Paste: Finally Apple realized that we iPhone users are in need of a copy and paste text application.
The copy & Paste app. will also let you select and copy and paste multiple pictures so you can paste them directly into an Email , ready to send!
Search Application: Apple created a new search app that will allow you to search your complete iPhone content, so you can find files, addresses, photos, audio and video quickly and efficiently.
Mail Search Application: Another nice addition is the mail search application. This app will search your entire Email folders, and calender. Imap is supported!
IPhone Modem: Connect your 3G iPhone to your computer, and use the iPhone as a modem!
This is a great feature that allows you to connect your laptop to the internet anywhere, via your iPhone.
Landscape Keyboard: Finally you will be able to rotate your iPhone and get a larger keyboard to type your texts with.
MMS Function: Finally the iPhone supports MMS! This new app will allow you to send anything, from images, to vcards, sound etc. ( no video or word documents yet)
Improved Stock Application: Stocks will now let you find and read related news, stories and Stocks related gossip.
Stereo Bluetooth Audio: Finally A2DP audio support. This will let you pair with a A2DP audio device like speakers or headphone.
Safari Login credentials: Safari will now be able to remember your login credentials, so you will not need to enter your username and password, every time you visit a website.
Shake to Shuffle: When using your iPod, you can just shake the iPhone to shuffle the songs randomly. I hope they have a way to disable this.
Wifi auto Logon: Wifi will now automatically connect to your subscribed hotspots ( finally!)
Voice Memo Application: A new iPhone 3.0 application that turns your iPhone into a voice recorder.
Send and Receive Files: a New App that will let you exchanges files between iPod’s and iPhone’s.
Peer 2 Peer Bluetooth: will let you send and receive files via bluetooth. Finally a wireless connection possibility to send and receive files between your iPhone and your computer 
Push messaging: Finally available in 3.0, Push messaging. Your iPhone will vibrate/play a sound when you receive a new message, Email, or IM message. even if you don’t have the application running.
VIOP: The new iPhone version will support Voice over IP, which means you can skype via your iPhone, and use voice functionality over the internet.
As you can see the iPhone 3.0 has quite some interesting features! We are definitely looking forward to its new release!
The big question is: Will we be able to unlock the 3.0 iPhone!?
