The popular Windows Mobile and Symbian browser which can pull Flash and Silverlight (soon on Android) content on cell phones has finally arrived on Android platform. Skyfire, which has been around for quite some time now has proved itself to be a potential browser for Nokia and Windows phones. It is probably the only browser which can pull off Flash video without any hassle. YouTube or Facebook videos, you name it, Skyfire will pull it off.

Skyfire for Android hosts a lot of cool features, some of them are as follows.

* SkyBar- SkyBar brings the best of the Internet to a mobile user’s fingertips, without any additional searching. By activating the SkyBar with a single touch, users are given access to any broken embedded video, related content, as well as the ability to share content to their social networks.
* Video –The “Video” icon repairs any broken Flash and rich-media video content embedded within a webpage. Goodbye, question marks and blue Legos.
* Related Content – The “Explore” icon brings the most relevant content on the Internet to a user’s fingertips based on what they are viewing at the time, without the need for arduous time spent typing in often unreliable mobile searches. The related button pulls video, buzz, news, images and other sites from the web based on what is on the current page.
* Sharing – The “Share” icon lets users update their social network profiles like Facebook and Twitter with a single click.

To make this whole Flash deal possible, Skyfire uses cloud computing technology to render all the flash content on it’s own dedicated Skyfire servers, therefore they’re more optimized for your handset and the performance is just great, without trashing or consuming a lot of your data package. All these great features are yours for the taking on your Android device! Give the browser a shot and tell us what you think about it.

According to the sources at TechCrunch, HP has dropped Windows 7 + Intel based hardware for its ambitious tablet project because “It’s too power hungry”. This news, which is yet to be confirmed by HP comes only a few hours after it was confirmed that Microsoft Courier Tablet wont see the light of day.

If this turns out to be true, then it will leave a big hole for PC manufacturers and specially Microsoft to fill as Apple iPad will now continue to dominate this niche market without having any major competing device in this form factor. I have been saying this for month and will repeat my statement again. Microsoft needs a Tablet which is based on the new Windows Phone 7 OS (something on the lines of this concept). Because lets be honest, the current (client version) Windows 7 wasn’t initially designed to be a touch friendly mobile OS. It was designed with keyboard + mouse input devices in mind, just like how OS X has been.

The sources at TechCrunch have also been told that HP Slate may debut again in late 2010, or sometime next year running Chrome OS or Android. HP may also bring WebOS to this market after they bought Palm only a few days ago.

In January this year, Steve Ballmer in his keynote at CES 2010 unveiled the HP Slate PC running Windows 7. The device was suppose to go retail in summer of this year. [via TechCrunch]

Since the unlock iPhone 3G needs to be unlocked or jailbroken in order to be used with any SIM that you want, there have always been several jailbreaks and programs that help in opening your iPhone. With newer versions of iPhone OS, newer jailbreaks are revealed.
Update (April 22, 2010): Geohot Untethered Jailbreak Tease.
Their efficacy and efficiency is far from known, and sometimes you may even risk rendering your iPhone unworkable, if things went wrong. With that in mind, here is yet another video which claims to jailbreak use Sn0wBreeze 3.1.3 to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 firmware.
We had earlier read that iPhones running on iPhone 3G 3.1.3 OS can’t be jailbroken with Blackra1n, which depressed a lot of people. Now, it turns out that you could use Sn0wBreeze 3.1.3 to jailbreak the new iPhone 3.1.3 firmware update. In a detailed video, one could see that it is quite a lengthy procedure.
A commenter reveals that you would need to download 3.1.3 Custom Firmware and Sn0wbreeze 3.1.3 v4. You might also need to download the bypass error program for the iTunes, and begin to jailbreak. The program asks you to confirm if you are ready to go through the procedure a few times, and you would just have to agree.
The successful jailbreaking also depends upon which generation of iPhone you are using. You could then choose a custom boot logo and move on to extract the IPSW. Later you would need to connect your iPhone 3G(S) and enter the recovery mode and Unlock iPhone 3G. Now, you it would be required to hold the shift button after launching iTunes and click the Restore button in iTunes. Afterward, your iPhone will be placed on recovery mode, and you would be required to connect the iPhone to the system using USB. From here, open Sn0wBreeze 3.1.3 and extract it.
Many commentators even in the YouTube page of the video have revealed that it didn’t work. However, some have claimed they really could jailbreak and Unlock iPhone 3G 3.1.3 OS. Moreover, if I had an already unlocked iPhone, I would desist from upgrading the OS to the next version and then again trying to jailbreaking it and making a whole mess of it. If the iPhone gets jailbroken or not is something that I can’t confirm. Since it was a tip that we received, we would like to hear from you guys if you were successful in jailbreaking using this video!

The instructions will only help unlock iphone 3g by downgrading iPhone 3G which is currently on iPhone
